Major recent achievements of NLTCDP (2005)

• 2,951(2660 male and 291 female) Street Children & youth have got Psychosocial/Spiritual support

• 2,951 Street Children & youth received education on HIV/AIDS, RH, Gender and Harmful Traditional Practices.

•~173,965 meals were supplied • 95 (76 male 19 female) street youth have got job after completing vocational skill training.

• 38 street Children & youth reconciled with their families
• 31 street Children & youth have got educational supply and resumed schooling.

Strength of NLTCDP

• Committed Staff who put the NGO priority of their lives and realize the vision and mission of the organization.

• The dedication and passion of our young staff members who assist back to the NGO having been on the receiving end of it before.

• Good partnership with community based and faith based organizations including local administrations.

Overwhelming need focus:HIV

In regards to HIV/AIDS, with Ethiopia now number three in the world in infection rates, totaling an estimated 2.6 million people who are infected with the virus, it is important that we expand our programs to help more people. So we need to increase our HIV/AIDS and ARH program to reach more street young people. Because of the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS and limited exposure to appropriate education and prevention programs, there is a great need to spread out our organization to reach more areas in Ethiopia.
